Liberty Replica Fundraiser Overview
Let's get this out of the way immediately: We are not big fans of the word "Fundraiser" either.
However, we learned early on that students (and their parents) wanted to know how they could purchase a Liberty Replica just like the one included in your Super Citizen Program Kit.
But instead of just selling the Replicas, we thought: "How can we turn earning a Replica into a lesson that fits our mission to inspire responsible, Super Citizens?"
The answer was simple - but profoundly eyeopening.
Our advisory board of teachers, administrators, community & business leaders suggested we include a Financial Literacy component in our Super Citizen (and in all subsequent Liberty's Legacy) Programs. Because, in their words:
"An often-overlooked principle of becoming a responsible citizen is financial literacy. Simple ideas like saving & investing pave the way to future understanding of personal finance, business-building, fiscal policy, taxes & more."
We couldn't agree more. Afterall, financial education, like reading, writing, science and math, impacts the welfare of every student - as well as the economic and social fabric of our communities and ultimately, our entire nation.
The most vulnerable our country has found itself has not been during wars or terrorist attacks, it has been during financial crises. We have seen this from the 1929 Stock Market crash to the 2008 Housing Market collapse that our personal well being and the well being of our country lie in our understanding and ability to keep our finances in order.
So what makes it a "fundraiser"?
Liberty's Legacy was born from the belief that we could make an impact in education with our unique products & programs. And if companies could split profits from the sale of meaningless items like cookie dough and wrapping paper, then we could do the same - but with items that advanced the cause of educating our students to become outstanding citizens.
In a time of “gimme, gimme, gimme” and entitlement, our hope is that YOU will join US in implementing a lesson that teaches and inspires each student to develop ideas and work hard. The heirloom they earn will be a lasting reminder of the lessons they are learning in your classroom - and will hold in their hearts & minds for years to come.
And even if the lesson does not spark a desire in the student to own a “real piece of history”, at a minimum we have laid the foundation that “Money Matters” and financial literacy is a huge component to being a good, responsible citizen and vital to the United States continuing to be the greatest nation on earth.
We are committed to continuing to provide lessons and activities that allow the continued growth of character building, financial literacy and career building in America’s youth.
Join us in preparing our next Super Citizens.
